Special Access Program
Regulations governing the Special Access Program were amended on January 5, 2022 to allow health practitioners to request restricted drugs like psilocybin and MDMA for patients with serious or life-threatening conditions where convention medicines have failed, or are otherwise unsuitable or not available in Canada.
Health practitioners can also request ibogaine, but Health Canada is reportedly not inclined to grant such requests.
Health Canada’s web page regarding Special Access Program requests can be found here.
